Caribbean Airlines has a stringent recruitment process because most of the flight attendants are generally required to be FAA certified.
Unless the applicant has prior accredited training with a recognise institution, then a flight attendant job will be a challenging process for new applicants.
A good start may be by examining the training options from a reputable school such as the Institute of Travel and Tourism - Caribbean Centre, whose website is at: www.flightcourse.info
Their training program generally runs in collaboration with other large airline companies. So maybe their certification might be influential enough.
Well, obviously, you need to get a flight attendant training (wow, I sound dumb answering your question :))
Anyway, there are lots of trainings that you can get; just Google it and be sure to choose the right one.
And, I just want to note that first and foremost, you need to meet the height, weight and medical requirements for a flight attendant. This may sound unfair especially if you are vertically challenged, weighs a lot or have a inborn illness - but that's the way the world is: blatantly unfair
If you can't satisfy these, I'm sorry to say this but chances are, you are unlikely to make it. I'm not trying to crush your dreams by saying this; I'm just being straightforward that these are critical criteria that employers consider when hiring a flight attendant.
Well, if you are vertically challenged, you can always apply as a flight attendance for different countries that have shorter height requirements like the Philippines - if you are a male and 5'6" above or are a female and 5'1" above, you already meet the height requirements.
Worried about weight? Just work out. I recommend swimming.
Have an inborn illness? I'm really sorry but I can't comment further for this.
And you have to have "acceptable and appealing" looks too.
You also need to be, at least, a bilingual as you are travelling internationally. Being a tri-lingual or multi-lingual can give you great competitive advantage.
With all that being said, I wish you luck!
To become a flight attendant, one would just need to apply to an airline. Having a passport is a must for a flight attendant and having some sort of degree is recommended but not a requirement. A background in customer service can make up for not having a strong educational background. Each airline will have different requirements for their flight attendants. http://www.flightattendantfacts.com
University of Phoenix - Southern Colorado, Colorado Springs, is one of the best and you can have information at the following site www.uscollegesearch.org/flight-attendant-colleges.html
There are plenty of flight attendant schools in Texas, most times they are offered through any university but some specialize in that field alone. Try calling a local college near you for information.
If you are looking for open positions as a flight attendant, look no further than Indeed--One search, all jobs http://www.indeed.com . They list flight attendant job openings from all over the USA.
There are many private flight attendant schools located across the United States. Most major airlines such as Delta, Continental, and Southwest have their own training program as well. Once you graduate from their program you can work as a flight attendant.
Just go online (southwest.com) and submit your application via email like I did. If they are interested they will fly you to an interview location (maybe Dallas, for instance) to do a group interview. If they still like you they will fly you again to a one-on-one interview. Good luck! -Southwest Flight Attendant
This will depend on which airline you would like to work for. Each airline has there own training and programs. Your best bet would be to contact the airline you would like to work for and find out what their training program consist of. If you are unsure of which airline you would like you work for you could attend flight attendant school.
Nahh, just not a hot one :P
Not unless they are the flight attendant on Air Force One. F/A's are employed by the individual airline companies.
Delta Airlines has a website that lists all of their current and open job opportunities. One is able to review the website and see how many flight attendant positions might be available with Delta Airlines at any given time. As of April 2012, there is one position for a flight attendant but they need to be able to speak Japanese. https://delta.greatjob.net
A career as a flight attendant is a very busy one full of adventure and responsibility. A flight attendant is required to fly to many locations all over the world while attending to the needs of on-board passengers.
I would love to be a flight attendant for ____________ Airlines, because I have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact with people on a professional and personal level is one of my best assets.
Yes. You are able to work as a flight attendant even if you loose a tooth in the back of your mouth. The tooth issue in regards to flying only applies to jet fighter pilots that endure more than 8 G (8 times their own weight) in certain exercises. If you have tooth fillings and experience this amount ogf gravity repeatedly the fillings may fall out.
