Take the strap at the base where it meets the tube. Pull it directly down until you are just past the area where the tube is cut in. The strap should be flush against the tube. Hold one finger on the strap keeping it tightly against the tube and allow a triangle to form over the finger as you wrap the strap around the tube. Continue until you have approx. a foot of strap left. Tuck the strap on the opposite side of the initial starting point from the direction you wrapped so it will not come undone and leave the "tail" hanging out so you can easily hand the tube but it will not come undone until pulled for quick response.
