One good practice is to take some time to center yourself, envision the day ahead of you, and prioritize your tasks. Prioritization is very important. It is often the key to success in a job. You need to be able to evaluate the things you need to do and separate out what feels urgent but is not important to long-term goals. You need to set aside time each day for the important tasks so that you are always moving forward. I usually keep a pad on my desk. Evey evening before leaving the office, I fill it up with what I need to do tomorrow. Then next day, I can take care of those items and tick them off as I go thru them.
I could say i use a list that ranks in priority of the task's to complete with a time scale added to act as my motivation ,of course with appropriate rest periods built in to help stimulate me for other task's,should an emergency arrive.
This only should show that i know how to prioritize things. At the start of a day -- in any industry i had before -- it is important that i review what needs to be done.
There will be 1.) urgent and important tasks, 2.) urgent but unimportant tasks, and 3.) non-urgent but important tasks. Tasks in category that one needs to be done first. Tasks in category two needs to be addressed but should not overwhelm me any manner. Make the most of my time in each day to address tasks in category three.
The night before I work.. I make sure to have my clothes picked out, and ironed. Just so there is less pressure in the morning, and if I oversleep its okay! Also I set my coffee on a timer. My alarm clock I set a couple minutes earlier than I need to get up so I can use the snooze button. It always feels good to press that snooze button! Also if I plan on bringing a snack or a lunch... I prepare it the night before! Always plan ahead of time it only helps you in the long run! =) I can only say that what sometimes feels good, is not so good for you. The snooze button is counterproductiove. Get up and get-er-done
Depends on the point of view of the person doing the planning: Personal work schedule: Is it a structured environment with set hours? Are you self-employed? or Are you a manager/supervisor planning employee work schedules? A general answer would give emphasis to the term "plan," meaning that it happens in advance considering all variables while aiming toward a goal.
A person can organize their day in many ways, including by importance. People can start their day by answering emails and returning phone calls.
