If you have an aptitude for learning languages, it is estimated that it should take approximately 1,100 hours of instruction to become fluent in Greek. Of course, this is dependent upon the amount of practice you do in your own time, also.

If you go to an Ulpan (a hebrew language school in Israel that means 48 hours a week), you can become mostly fluent in about 6 months. If you are learning outside of Israel, It could take 2 years or more, depending on how much exposure you get to the language.

To teach within the public school system within theUnited States from pre-K through high school, you must have a bachelor's degree in a teacher education program from a regionally accredited college or university and state teacher certification. This would take approximately four years as a full-time student, provided you take the program as prescribed by the college or university.
