Unless you've eaten "pickled snot balls", you don't know what they taste like! I have eaten many Japanese rhinoceros beetle grubs (Trypoxilus Dichotomus) while living in Yokosuka, Japan. These are readily available at many of their department stores, sold as pets. They are huge, fatter than your thumb and they bite! They ressemble the common grubs found under your lawn, only very large! I remove the hard, crunchy head, and remove the main intestine which is filled with digested wood, their main food, rotting wood. I steam the remaining meat and eat with melted butter/lemon juice. The white meat has a wonderful, sweet earthy flavor, similar to crayfish tails. I have also eaten Australian "Wictchetty grubs", but I cook in the same manner as the above Japanese grubs. Again, the meat is sweet and crayfish-like. I, like most of you, will NOT eat the grubs live, or uncooked.
they taste like apple
Other grubs that look similar to whichetty grubs include rhinoceros beetle grubs and wood-boring beetle larvae. These grubs are typically white or cream in color and have a similar cylindrical body shape. They are often found in rotting wood or underground, feeding on decaying plant material.

Witchetty grubs have been described as having a nutty and buttery flavor with a texture similar to scrambled eggs or tofu. They are also known for being rich in protein and fat, making them a valuable food source in Indigenous Australian cuisine.
Pickled ginger is traditionally served with sushi for a few reasons. One is that it aids digestion. A second is that it cleans your palette, so if you eat some ginger after a flavorful roll you won't taste that roll on your next bite of nigiri.
Because people are rubbing their balls on you whilst you sleep ;)
Yes, if the recipe has been followed correctly. BALLS IN YOUR MOUTH C:<
Some like them and some don't. If they don't, then it is more for you.
Animals such as birds, raccoons, skunks, and moles are known to eat grubs. Additionally, some insects like beetles and ants also feed on grubs.
