Kittens aren't a phylum. Cats are under a larger phylum but I can't remember what is due to the fact the my class doesn't have science books at the momemt. If you search "what phylum does a cat fall under?" you'll probably get better results.
They are ambush predators, meaning that they wait for food to come to them. Some of them dig holes and have prey fall in.
