Garden snails eat a large variety of green vegetables. I find that they enjoy fresh, crunchy lettuce a lot. It is amusing to here their crunching sounds as they devour their fresh, green dinner. I put some carrots in there before, too. They do eat them. When I examined the carrot after, I could see small bits of carrot eaten off along the sides. However, I find that the garden snails eat lettuce easier. I tried feeding them cherries, but they strangely wouldn't eat them.

Helix aspersa (small grey snail) and Helix pomatia (or Roman snail) are more popular. You can use garden snails from your garden, but snails from your supermarket in case the snail has any pesticides that could be harmful.
