Is the Atlantic bobtail a vertebrate or invertebrate?
The Atlantic bobtail is a species of squid; a squid is a
mollusc, and any member of the Phylum Mollusca is an invertebrate
as they do not have a backbone or spinal cord. Molluscs include
squid, octopus, clams, oysters, snails, slugs and chitons.
Vertebrates include only some members of the Phylum Chordata:
specifically, mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
