Ticks don't jump. They grab on to passing fur with their forelegs.

There is a high probability that your cat will have more fleas on it. Fleas are tiny little things that reproduce fast, and your cat could probably have eggs or more fleas on it. If you want to prevent fleas, there are really good medicines out there you could use.
I live in Kentucky on lake Barkley and we have alot of ticks but as soon as the toad and frog babies start to come out of the lake and ponds the ticks disapear and fast. So the baby frogs and toads are what eat the Ticks around here. Mike

Well, Ticks can carry Limes disease and other sicknesses for it might have had many hosts before you. i suggest you get it out of you fast or consult the doctor for a blood test or something along those lines.

They run very fast, if they are not lazy. I have a female Brittany Spaniel and we take her out for runs every night and she runs so fast you don't even see her legs moving. But when you run them check for ticks because my Brittany gets some on her but yes they run VERY fast.
