The term is compaired to a butterfly because butterflys like to flutter from one flower to the other which in the long-run helps to polinate them. They compare this to a person who is good at" fluttering" from one person to the other. I guess you could say it helps people, I'm not sure how to compare being polinated to it though :) lol Again, love the question, it made me smile.
