because maggots live in dead bodies or any where disgusting
Maggots are Scavengers because they cannot hunt their own food, therefore they have to live off of already dead animals.
Some maggots such as housefly maggots prefer decomposing meat or flesh. Although some maggots live in decomposing logs or trees. These are just a few places where maggots live.
Ideal conditions for larvae to grow (as maggots are only fly larvae), also there is food there and they are safe. Hope this helps,JoshDurham
Maggot is the common name for the larvae of flies. Flies typically lay their eggs or put live maggots onto rotting food that they find. Maggots are very commonly seen in carrion. The maggots eat the food, grow bigger and then pupate and turn into flies. Also mantella frog, mosquito, mollusk, and myfly.
Maggots are not considered parasites in the traditional sense, as they do not actively feed on living tissue within a host organism. Instead, maggots typically feed on dead or decaying organic matter, aiding in the process of decomposition. While they may be found in wounds or sores on living organisms, they are often used in medical settings to clean and promote healing in infected wounds through a process known as maggot therapy.
Leeches are blood sucking parasites, they are normally found in body's of fresh water. Maggots are fly larvae they can be found in rotting food or carcases ( like a dead body, maggots can be found where flys have laid eggs), an example is maggots can found in cans of raw mushrooms.
