(I can't believe someone previously answered "yes" to this, lol.)
The answer is NO. They wouldn't even be allowed to get that close to one another without one attacking the other. Each individual species has their own way of "talking" to their mate. Most of this communication is done through vibrations of the body parts and pheromones. The pheromones and vibration style of one species is completely different from those of another. They would not mistake one for the other. If a Hobo so much as touched the web of a Black Widow, it would instantly be wrapped up in silk and envenomated, then eaten. The genitalia of Spiders is like a lock and key system. The mating pairs of a species fit together perfectly (the males' pedipalps and the females' epigynes). Something of a different species wouldn't even fit right, making mating impossible... especially in two species so incredibly different. Black Widows and Hobos belong to two completely different families.
black widow
The Black Widow spider will mate, and then eat her mate because they are stuck together.
The Black Widow Spider
A black widow spider (along with most other spiders) will kill her mate, so a woman who kills her husbands is called a black widow.
Black Widow, I believe.
* A black widow is a spider * metaphorically speaking A blackwidow is a woman who kills her mate afterward. * A widow is a woman whose husband has died.
Yes, she does. After mating with her husband, she kills and eats him.
black widow
The name "Black Widow" comes from the spider killing their mate, plus they are black with a red or yellow hourglass.
The black widow spider got its name because the female of the species is known to eat the male after mating, similar to the behavior of the black widow woman in certain cultures who are rumored to kill their spouses.
They mate with female Black Widows, and since the male knows that mating with the Black Widow will ultimately lead to his death by cannibalism, the black widow technically commits suicide just for the Black Widow spider to live and pass on.
The Black Widow on Counterfeit Island is female. The name comes from the poisonous species of spider, in which the female spider kills the male when they mate. The name "black widow" is colloquially any woman or wife who kills one or more husbands or mates, especially for financial benefit.
