Yes. Some people are allergic to the venom and can die by a single sting. It is important to rake or scrape the stinger out of your skin so stop the venom from injecting further into your blood.

Most bee species are venomous... however - their sting is rarely fatal to humans, unless multiple stings are received. Some 'stingless' species still have the black/yellow warning colours - which discourages possible predators.

Bee venom from any variety of stinging bee is a poison, but not enough is injected to have a serious effect on a human or larger animal. A single sting to another insect will kill it.
