Where did the Mormons use to live?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly called
"Mormons") began in 1830 in Palmyra, New York. Church headquarters
then moved to Kirtland, Ohio, then Jackson County, Missouri, then
Nauvoo, Illinois before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1947. Not
all Church members live near Church headquarters, however; today
most church members live outside the United States.
