Estonia is a democratic parliamentary republic divided into 15 counties which has over 1,500 islands. Lithuania is a Parliamentary democracy on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea and it is the largest in Baltic countries. Lithuania was the first Soviet republic to declare independence from the USSR.
Parliament, Court of Justice of the European Union, Council (with so-called President), Council of Ministers (of member states), Commission (government).
People do not join the European Union. Countries do. It is an organisation of countries, not of people. As a result of countries joining, people are living in countries that are in the European Union and can be called its citizens.
