Which two NATO member states engaged in a military conflict against each other When did it happen and what was it about?

No two NATO member states have ever engaged in military conflict against each other. It would not be permited by the very nature of NATO and furthermore, all NATO countries are democracies from the political standpoint and apparently, no two democracies have ever waged open war against eacother. Hmmm:: 1974 Turkey Vs Greece:::: Cyprus. I do not know even if either were in Nato then , but I suspect both were. You are right here in that both Turkey and Greece were NATO member states in 1974, but there was no war between those states during the civil fighting in Cyprus. Cyprus had been independent since 1960 and is not a member of NATO. The fighting took place between the ethnic Turkish and Greek Cypriots, lasting from 1963 to 1974 and although both Turkey and Greeke provided aid to the respective communities on the island (and Greece even sent troops) they did not fight against each other and there was not even a Turkish military presence on the island until after 1974 when the Greeks had already pulled out. So it is true that there was a political conflict between the aforementioned two states but it was not also military.
