Henry VIII had one older brother name Arthur, who died while their father, Henry VII, was still alive. Arthur married Catherine of Aragon, who later married Henry VIII, after Arthur's death. Catherine and Henry were the parents of Queen Mary Tudor, also known as Bloody Mary because of her persecution of non-Catholics.

Henry's brother was killed so he married his widowed wife. She did not produce a son so he asked the Pope for a divorce. The Pope said no and so Henry made his own religion with no taxes.

No. Henry VII was the father of Henry VIII. Henry VII took over the throne and it was to go to his eldest son when he died. Henry VII's eldest son was Prince Arthur, but Arthur died before his father, so Henry VIII took the crown when his father died.
