Winston Churchill was undoubtedly a great speechmaker. His voloumes of the Second World War are a massive historical archive. His Leadership in WW2 was inspirational & Statesmanlike. He commanded the support of even his political opponents in Britain as a Wartime Coalition Prime Minister. He had a healthy distrust of Stalin and respect for Roosevelt, while advocating for the best interests of Britain & the free world. In post WW2 diplomacy he is implaccably opposed to the Soviet domination of Eastern Europe. Politically I am not one of Churchills' supporters, but my admiration of his qualities of personal probity and decency are unquestioned. As leaders of the nations in the mid 20th Century he stands alone as the greatest of them all. A historical giant.
