I have noticed in my state of Texas, that when I go to the Parks, there the majority of people there are Latino, and they seem to have no compunction against littering. They just litter right in front of eachother,... Moms, Grand-moms, Dads, kids, men women, just drop their trash where they stand, even if they are right next to a trash can. the Men fishing are the worst, they leave hotdogs packs everywhere and leave cut-lines in the water with hooks still attached when the leave. hey have no respect for those that come after them, and I believe I know why. You also see this behavior in immigrants (Legal and illegal) from Africa, India, China, Kore, Viet Nam, Indonesia, and other so-called third world countries...
The reason is, in those countries, there is not taboo against litter, and even rich people litter right off their own balconies into their own yards. In fact, we littered like crazy up until the 70's when we started having ads with the crying Indian, that started us thinking more.
We need signs in other languages to teach people from other countries how to keep America Beautiful (And everywhere else too!) We really to make an effort to educate immigrants from countries without litter awareness, or we will become just like those filthy depressing places full of disease that everyone is trying to escape from!
