Thermoplastic

∙ 15y agoThe white casing around a plug is typically made from plastic material, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). These materials are durable, lightweight, and provide insulation to protect users from electrical shocks.
because when electricity pass through the plug ,it produces heat and this type of plastic doesn't melt
A current higher than what the plug is rated for will cause that type of condition.
Generically, this group of plastics are known as thermoplastic materials. They soften upon heating, and may be moulded to shape easily. And importantly, they become harder and of fixed shape when they cool.what kind of plastic is around a plug
Depends on what type of curler you got. If you got an oldschool one with no cord and is just a round peice of metal, there is a special tool that is made of iron and you heat it up with an electrical outlet while letting the actual curler set inside. if you got a standard curling iron with a plug, plug it in. if youre talking about individual curlers, plug it in or DONT HEAT THEM! some are made of plastic and will melt.
