you can re use them a few times but it is best to recycle them after a few uses because the plastic that they are made of release cancer causing toxins when they are left out in the sun to long.
well in a survival situation you should try to avoid reusing plastic bottles as they release chemicals into the water that can cause very serious problems. if you have to reuse plastic bottles, don't store for more than a day.
no,it takes long long time to recycle or may be not. Depends on the type of plastic, of which there are dozens.
If each bottle is 12 inches long, it would take 5,280 bottles.
Freezing water in a plastic water bottle is not toxic, but there may be concerns about chemicals leaching from the plastic into the water, especially if the bottle is made of low-quality plastic. It is generally safer to use bottles made of materials like stainless steel or glass for storing water for long periods of time.
500 years
Plastic bottles can take hundreds of years to decompose in the environment, as they are not biodegradable. During this process, they break down into smaller pieces called microplastics which can persist in the environment for even longer. Recycling plastic bottles can help reduce the amount of plastic waste in landfills and oceans.
As long as the plastic bottles have been constantly cool or cold, the water is fine. However, if bottles are left out in a warm or hot place, there are a number of chemicals which leach out from the plastic. These chemicals (polyphenols and others) are potentially hazardous to your health, if ingested regularly and chronically. Also, the plastic is not readily biodegradable and, therefore, bad for the environment.Answer:Bottled water has been found to contain pathogens (microbes) and organic contaminants such as benzene due to its source. In many cases bottled water is simply potable water from a local city supply repackaged in bottles.
PET plastic bottles are generally considered safe for single use and do not leach harmful chemicals into the contents when used as intended. However, reusing these bottles or exposing them to heat can increase the risk of chemicals such as antimony leaching into the liquid. It is recommended to avoid reusing PET bottles and opt for other types of containers for long-term use.
As long as the lids hold water, and you keep washing them.

Direct sunlight tends to heat both the water and the plastic. For some plastics, especially bottles designed to biodegrade, prolonged sunlight can cause a breakdown in the material, giving the water a bitter taste. This takes a long exposure, but is similar to the taste imparted to water by a garden hose that has been in the sun.Ultra-violet light from the sun can also be used to disinfect dirty water. Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS) is a free and effective method for water treatment, usually applied at the household level and is recommended by the World Health Organization as a viable method for household water treatment and safe storage.
