I think most bike combination locks have a buttton, or something to press in so that you can set a new combination.
I imagine for most it is on the " top side " of the cylindrical lock barrel ( the side / face where you insert the key ). Try pressing something in, changing the combination ( then " unpushing " whatever you pushed in).
With my lock you use the key to pry off the first ring then pull the next three off and reassemble it to your specifications.
First, you need to unlock the bike and push the reset button or lever or wheel found near the combination wheel. And then enter the new combination you want for your bike lock by turning the lock dial. After entering the new combination, push the button again or put the lever back to its position. Lock the bike after and mix up the lock dial combination. Make sure to test the new combination to make sure that it works.
When the lock is open, there is a ridged knob to the right of the numbers. Turn this clockwise; then you can change the combination. Turn it back to fix the new combination.
p.s. Don't do this by accident!
Some (not all) combination locks have tiny cracks between the four dials. Look between the cracks and turn all of the dials until a tiny black dot appears in each crack. This is the hole that the lock mechanism enters when the correct combination is entered. The lock should now open. If not, rotate each dial by one (for example if you have 5637 you would rotate to 6748). Keep doing this until the lock opens. If this does not work, the only other way to open the lock without damage is to try every possible combination from 0000 to 9999. It is also possible to cut most chain-style locks or padlocks with a bolt cutter. Bar-style locks can be cut with a hacksaw. Note that doing any of this on a lock you do not own or have permission to crack is illegal.
