Christmas in the United States is celebrated by Christians and non Christians alike. Houses and businesses, street lights, and Christmas trees are decorated. There are parties and special events. Children look forward to Santa arriving on Christmas Eve. Families gather on Christmas Day for a special Christmas meal and to exchange gifts. In addition, Christians attend special events at their churches and Midnight Mass or church service on Christmas Eve. Mangers with Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus often are among their decorations.

What my family does on Christmas is decorate our home, of course, and buy presents to put under our Christmas tree, which is typically with us a real tree. Then after celebrating Christmas with our immediate family we will celebrate with our more distant relatives at our aunt and uncle's home.
