A medieval town is simply a town that was around during the Middle Ages, several hundred years ago. A Manor is a Grand house that's home to someone wealthy.

There wasn't wholesale factory type cloth making. It was done at home as part of the chores for women. Linen and wool were used. It isn't until the "spinning jenny" in the 1800's that cloth will be made in large amounts. So Spinning was a major occupation of women in medieval times. They would spin wool and flax into thread, both for their own use and to sell to professional weavers. In early medieval times, both men and women worked as weavers, but in the later medieval period women were generally squeezed out of the trade by men.
Because people believed that women were meant to stay home and that men should be the ones to do the work.

They had their own homes. They also had medieval universities. They taught just like the teachers today. Then they went home.

In medieval times, a peasant was someone of the lower economical class. They could either be free peasants, working and purchasing their own home and food, or they could choose to work at a royal household. There, they were legally considered part of the property - they were slaves. But being part of the royal household had advantages. The peasants were given housing and a small patch of earth for farming their own food. They could live with their families, and they were protected in times of war. Often, peasants chose this lifestyle.
Some medieval city women were housewives, who kept house and raised children. Many were in business with their husbands or other close relatives. These were rather well educated women, who often could perform all the functions needed to run a business. Typically, if the business involved travel, the husband did this and the wife controlled what happened at home. Many other women worked at jobs of all sorts. Many were cooks or servants. Some were independent bakers. Most city folk did not cook at home in the Middle Ages, so many people, including a lot of women, made livings by prepared foods. Other women were tailors, weavers, jewelers, artists and so on. Medieval women were often allowed to do all the things medieval men did. There is a link below to a question whose answer goes into this in more detail.
I have been looking for exactly the same thing! Rich medieval women did not look after their children instead a maid did. I haven't found any thing else yet but if I do I will tell you! sorry to be such a pain knowing only one thing!
Women, especially, have drastically changed not only from the Medieval Times but from the beginning of man. Rather than just being stay at home moms who take care of the house and family, women are more independent. They are now considered equal to men (in Western countries). Children have also changed. They are no longer working hard (and mostly dangerous) labor at a young age (in Western countries). They now go to school to get an education to better themselves in the future.
Athenian women were not allowed to do anything that the men could do. They had quiet lives and mostly stayed at home. While in ancient Spartan women could mostly anything the men could do. hope this helped!
Okay so some similarities are that men and women could both stay home and take care of a family and that they both took care of a farm. Some differences are that men could vote and women couldn't, men could be elected president and women couldn't, lastly men could work in factories and women had to stay home and take care of the family by cleaning and cooking.
yes they did own a home
