Wednesday.
That Was The Week That Was was created on 1962-11-24.
The Armistice ending World War I was signed on November 11 at about 11 am: the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. For years this was celebrated as Armistice Day. After World War II the name was changed in the US to "Veterans' Day" and in much of the British Commonwealth to "Remembrance Day".
Our calendar is the Gregorian Calendar. It is named after Pope Gregory XIII who took 11 minutes of the day of the Julian calendar and made some other minor modifications in 1582. This means that our calendar is a slightly modified version of the Julian Calendar.
