Answer 1
ancient Egypt was a Superpower, something like the USA today. Of course small Israel could not be compared to Ancient Egypt.
Answer 2
It honestly depends more on personal taste and the exact time-period than the political and social differences between Ancient Egypt and Israel. It would probably be better to be a wealthy Egyptian than a wealthy Israelite, but it would probably be better to be a poor Israelite than a poor Egyptian. In antiquity, most people were poor.

Egypt was not at war with Israel (in a de facto sense) in 1966. Egypt was at war with Israel de jure because it did not acknowledge its Right to Exist. Egypt was preparing to invade Israel in late 1966 and early 1967. It is very likely that Egypt would have invaded in late 1967, if Israel did not launch a preventative strike to cripple the Egyptian Air Force, beginning the Six Day War.
The ancient civilization directly south of Ancient Egypt was Nubia, also known as Kush. Nubia was located in present-day Sudan and had close cultural connections with Ancient Egypt, including trade and occasional political ties.
It depends on how you define Palestine. If you define it as the territories under the de facto control of the Palestinian Authority, it only borders Israel. If you consider only the territories of the West Bank, even those under de facto Israeli control, it borders both Israel and Jordan. If you consider all of the Palestinian Territories, also including the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, it borders Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. If you consider the former Mandate of Palestine that many Arabs use when they discuss Palestine replacing Israel, it would border Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon (but no Israel since Israel would be gone).
This would be the Mediterranean Sea. It touches Egypt, Israel, and Turkey.
