yes, yes they did.
=The evacuees lived with other people they didn't know in the countryside, basicly because they were young kids and couldn't live with their parents in the war. I am only a child but I think some brothers and sisters got split up.=
The evacuees were primarily sent to farms and country villages. They had to learn to do farm chores and how to play safely in the country.
With all the bombing in Britain in WW2 children were sent away. They were called evacuees. They were sent to live either with relatives in the countryside, or random people, away from all the major cities which were being bombed at this time.
Evecuee
they got sent away with a pack lunch
The evacuation conducted by the Ministry of Health did not send the evacuees overseas. Some families went overseas to get away from the blitz bombing. ___ Yes some evacuees were sent abroad. Canada, Australia, South Africa and NZ all hosted evacuees. The evacuations were organized by the Children's Overseas Reception Board (CORB)
I don't think there is a particular word for Wales, but children sent away from their families for the duration of war are "evacuees".
Yes, many did.

Evacuees are children moving house far away while the war was on
Evacuees had to try to fit in with other children and their families so that they wouldn't feel more emotional about having to leave home. Second answer: The evacuees were primarily sent to farms and country villages. They had to learn to do farm chores and how to play safely in the country. Most of the evacuees had decent experiences but some were abused, had their ration cards stolen from them or were made fun of by the other children or the host families. Some spent hours writing to their families.
