Ancient Rome was an ideal place for a city because of the location and its many resources. To begin, Rome was situated in a valley that had seven hills surrounding it. The hills served as out post. In addition, Rome had several Natural Resources such as, lumber, rock, olives, and livestock. The Tiber River gave them water. The soil was especially fertile because the rainwater had no where to drain because of the hills. As you can see, ancient Rome had many things that made it an ideal place for a city.

Why was the location of rome especially favorable to early settlers?

The location of a civilization is an important prerequisite- so it is with Rome. If you looked at Rome on a map, you would see it is surrounded by mountains, jungles, and a turbulent sea on all sides. It is from this sheltered position that Rome springboarded to greatness. Remember, Hannibil of Charthage had a great deal of trouble crossing the Roman mountains. The story of the elephants is famous.

Where to visit in ancient Rome to learn and see the language?

I Am not sure I understand your question. The ruins of Ancient Rome are in Rome and the language spoken in Italy is Italian. If you want to learn it there are many ways to do so. If you go to Pompei you can see ancient graffiti from 79AD, but there is no longer ancient Latin spoken as it was 2000 years ago.
