Why was Julius Caesar a good leader?

Brutus was considered a good leader in Julius Caesar because he lacked the ambition and greed that could lead to the destruction of a nation. Brutus did not have the desire to gain power for his satisfaction but rather worked for the best of Rome. He stated in his speech around scene 3 that he loved Caesar but loved Rome more. And for Rome was he willing to give up his life if he were to become ambitious as Caesar.
