Iraq is so hot in summer because Iraq is relatively close to the Tropic of Cancer. Another reason would be the weather like in summer is very dry with barely any clouds. Huminidity is very low, about 10% meaning that the air heats up much quicker. However, it also means that it looses heat quicky at night. Another reason would be the altitude. Baghdad, is only 44m above sea level. Two big rivers drain the area of Iraq : Euphares and Tigris. All these factors add up to well known 120F summers.
