The Vikings were a wild bunch of people, loved fighting and invading other lands and castles, and were good sailors. The question should, of course, have said 'did' not 'do', since the Vikings haven't been around for many centuries. They travelled far, though not completely around the world, because there was little land in the Norweigian fjords for agriculture, thus they had to find land for settlements elsewhere. One of the Viking descendents in France became William the Conqueror (1066 and all that).
