The Japanese attack the US at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, USA on December 7th 1941. Adolf Hitlter declared war on the US about a week later. That is how the US came to have troops sent into action. They were already helping England with the Lend Lease Act by sending supplies, armament, food and some men joined the RAF to fly planes for them.
