Well ratings you'd imagine, but why did the ratings fall? I see 2 primary reasons. The family aspect of his life was ignored in season 2, the kids barely spoke a word for the first 1/2 of the season, so I think that "human aspect" was missing.
The 2nd reason is more controversial, pure speculation here, but Warren Boyd himself. (The guy it's based on) In the start of season 2 the 2 of them were out on the circuit, morning Talk Shows, etc. There was also a special about Warren in real life. Now, I know he has done great things for many people, God bless him for that, but I think bringing him out for the interviews and showing us such an in depth portrait of the real cleaner was a bad idea. Best they left the face, and personality, of the cleaner as Bratt's. Truth is I don't think the guy was very likable, came across as sort of a controlling a$$, and an all around unlikable sort of guy.

Benjamin Franklin might have kept streets cleaner by asking neighbors to pay at least a little money to the cleaners, then the street cleaners eventually had enough money to pave the streets, then things became more safe from accidents!
