But also before that, Germany had been taking and bringing other countries into the Third Reich. France was conquered in as little as 6 weeks which showed how well Germany's army was built.

In 1939 Britain had a pact with Polandto assist the country if it was attacked.On 1 Septmeber 1939the Germans invaded Poland and two days later Britain declared war on Germany. It was a bit of a charade as Britain had no way of providing any practical help to Poland. Joncey
