However, there was a worldwide influenza and many people worldwide died, including the children of those nations. It is rumored that more people around the globe died from this influenza than did from fatal war wounds.
Another factor was the programs set up in both Britain and the US to encourage children to keep clean, wash their hands, get inoculated, eat right and get plenty of exercise in fresh air.
