The name is Edward Smith. He listened to Bruce Ismay when he told him to go faster. When the ship hit the iceberg, there was nothing he could do at that point. There weren't enough lifeboats on the ship, not enough for half the people. Captain Smith would not have taken one of those lifeboat spots for himself of course, so he had no other option but to go down with his ship.
The Titanic. The Titanic sank because when it hit the iceburg it started to sink which makes it extremely dangerous for ships to hit an iceburg. The captain I think said that the Titanic will never sink but it did.
Titanic sank in 1912. An iceberg caused it to sink in the Atlantic Ocean carrying 2,200 souls on board.
The replica of Titanic in China will not be designed to recreate the sinking of the original Titanic.

Not even close. The Titanic sank in the North Atlantic, a way's south of Newfoundland.
Captain Smith went down with Titanic.

He was afraid the Titanic might sink because of the icebergs
Nobody really knew that Titanic was going to sink until Thomas Andrews confirmed it to Captain Smith at 12:25; 45 minutes after the collision.
after Titanic's first voyage Captain Smith was going to retire.
Captain Smith was not drunk when 1.496 people died on Titanic. To push him off would not have prevented the collision.
basically he ignored every warning that came in about the ice berg and said the titanic will never sink and it did sink so what he did was nothing
The black gang down in the boiler rooms saw the water breaching, but the first confirmation that Titanic would sink was when Thomas Andrews verified it to Captain Smith at 12:25 in the morning.
because back in those days it was a tradition for the captain to sink with his ship

It is said that there were many people but the two main people who caused the Titanic to sink. Captain Smith (Captain Edward John Smith) and Thomas Andrews. Captain Smith was the Captain of the Titanic and Thomas Andrews was the engineer who built the ship. Captain Smith was responsible because he wanted to make it to New York one day earlier than they planned so he sped the ship up. but that night it was very foggy and he didn't see the ice burg. when he finaly saw it, it was to late to turn around and the ship grazed the edge of it causing it to fill with water. Thomas Andrews was responsible for the sink because at the bottom of the ship there are massive big compartments. he said that the ship was able to have four of those filled up with water and the ship still not sink so he claimed it unsinkable. but, when the titanic grazed against the ice burg, it opened up a big hole and five compartments filled up with water. the ship started to sink at the front but the pressure was too much. near the end it split in half. the big end went down first then the little bit that had snapped off went down afterwards. altogether it took about an hour for the ship to sink. I hope I have answerd your question and I hope I have helped you!
