For the British, the General was Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith.

For the Colonists the two Generals were Captain John Parker (of Lexington) and Colonel James Barrett (of Concord). It occurred on April 19, 1775, the British had one the first encounter but the resistance there gave the Concord Patriots time to prepare.
