George changed the family name to that of the English Windsor. In 1922 BBC helped George and his wife, Mary, to continue the monarch's popularity. In 1934 George began brodcasting on the radio and in newspapers(later on t.v.). Along with the Great Depression in the United States, England had its own depression. There were many who lived horrible lives and were unable to meet living standards. Other than both World Wars, which is very popular, music was very big in England from the middle of the 20th century(1950s) and throughout the century.
