There was multiple Presidents of American during slavery since slavery began around the start of the country as slaves were brought into American. In fact, the first President, George Washington, was in office with slavery occurring. Slavery then lasted up until Abraham Lincoln was the President who ended slavery as a result of the Civil War, but blacks, Native Americans, and immigrants would still be discriminated against until the later Civil Rights Movement.
