Anthony Eden- Churchill was elected for a second time at the 1951 elections, but although he served his full term of foffice as a peacetime leader, by the '55 elections he was becoming an old man and starting to lose his mental faculties. Eden had been his Chancellor, so took over a Conservative Party leader and was voted in.
Eden is chiefly remembered for having exacerbated, if not actually CREATED, the Suez Crisis of late 1956, which was one of the most dangerous incidents during the Cold War and nearly led to WW3. His failure to deal with this effectively led to him resigning in disgrace on 11th January '57 and being replaced by his own Chancellor, Harold MacMillan, who was in office until October 1963.

Winston Churchill wanted Australian troops that were returning to Australia on a ship to come to Britain to defend, however John Curtin knew they desperately needed troops to defend for Australia. John Curtin and Winston Churchill both demanded very harshly however, John Curtin was incharge of Australian troops afterall and therefore they were brought to Australia. From there Australia and Britain weren't as close anymore.
