How was the US media portraying the war in Vietnam?

As a useless war that the USA got into, because LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Then the country fought the war with one hand tied behind it's back until R M Nixon (in Dec. 1972) sent in B-52s to bomb the North Vietnamese back to the peace talks. The USA then left the country in Jan. 1973, and S. Vietnam fell to North Vietnam in 1975, because S. Vietnam was corrupt and incompetent. Cambodia and Laos also fell the Communists and the "Domino" theory became fact. The Vietnam War failed because there was no way the USA could win the war if S. Vietnam could not fight for themselves. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was the biggest lie in the history of the USA and cost the lives of countless human beings in a wasted effort. The USA was Not beaten on the battlefield, (the B-52's proved that). It just gave up on South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, who were incable of defending their own nation.

What good things did LBJ do?

LBJ's Great Society declared a war on poverty, and reduced the poverty rate from 20% to 13%. Also, he outlawed discrimination at work and other places with his civil rights acts. To add, he gave money to schools and established or funded scholarships. Finally, he made medicare or medicaid Plus, some think the Vietnam as a bad war, but we helped trying to keep the South Vietnamese free, which was not the greatest thing because they were very corrupt and not willing to fight. He never even declared a war, it was a policing action. North Vietnam was trying to invade the South and were killing innocent resistors. But the south did the same thing. He waged a pointless war and got a lot of good men killed. He even lied about the fact of Americans getting killed. There are no good things about him.

In World War 1 how old did you have to be to fight for your country?

18 years old. If you were younger and your parents approved you could be as young as 16. Or as some young men did, they lied about their age basically saying they were older than they really were , in order to get into the army.

How did the us government deal with native americans?

The policy of the Native Americans was one of genocide, and removal. The unwritten policy was a " good Indian, was a dead one" and everything was done to make sure that was true. Native Americans were removed from homelands, killed in raids on villages, given blankets with smallpox on them, starved, walked to death, hung, placed in camps and reservations, taken to schools away from families, and lied to.

well, if she cheated and lied about it you probably shouldn't be together anymore but only if you KNOW she cheated and lied about it... unless you can work things about, she (or you) won't do it again, and you completely trust each other... you probably shouldn't be together anymore... or at least take a break from each other

What were the reasons for the entry of the Vietnam war?

President Lydon Johnson lied to the American People that USA Navy Destroyers had been attacked at the Gulf of Tonkin by North Vietnamese Torpedo Boats. This lie led to the Tonkin Resolution, which led to the Vietnam War, 1965 to 1975. President LBJ said that the US Navy Sailors were probably just shooting at Flying Fish, when they claimed they were attacked by North Vietnamese enemy warships. LBJ lied so he could get permission from the Congress to attack North Vietnam.
