The fable states Smith, but the truth is she didn't to this. Smith wrote this in a book after she died so the story comes from him. Historians think that this never happened and Smith lied about his part in Jamestown and how important he was to the colony. He was not liked and the "accident" that sent him back to England was gunpowder sprinkled on him while he slept and set on fire. He had to go home. In the meantime Pocahontas was kidnapped for 4 years, changed her name to Rebecca, became a Christian, married John Rolf. She had a baby boy and died in England. Rolf took the baby to his sister who raised him.
Pocahontas has only saved john smith's life once
Pocahontas did not save the colony of Jamestown, Pocahontas saved john white from death by stoning by the local Indians. pocohantis was the chief's daughter, and just before he was executed, it is said she threw herself in front of him to save his life,of course this fact could be a lie creaed from john white himself. but we do know that they did get maried, she was 15, he was about 35. -AnSwEr
John Rolfe.
He did NOT save Jamestown. He was only there a very few months and he lied about his contribution to the settlement in a book he wrote several years later. He also made up the story about Pocahontas and she died young so couldn't refute his story. The man who did save Jamestown was the husband of Pocahontas and gave tobacco seeds to the colony. That was John Rolfe.
When the English colonists John Smith was taken by Powhatan warriors and Pocahontas save him from execution.
