Colonel George Spencer "Spanky" Roberts of Fairmont, WV and Capt. Mac Ross of Dayton, Ohio both graduated from West Virginia State College. Roberts went on to the full rank of Colonel, retiring in 1968. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Capt. Ross was killed during WWII when his P-51 was shot down.
