Little Egypt is the nickname given by early white settlers to the southernmost tip of Illinois. There the Ohio and the Mississippi Rivers join and form a land area that reminded settlers of the Nile delta Cairo, Egypt. They named the town they built there Cario, but pronounced it differently: "KAY-row."
Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt were united in about 3000 BC (or a little before that).

tutankhamen ruled in Egypt----------------------------------Translation of the above: I think he began his rule at Akhetaten very briefly (= modern El Amarna, located - roughly - in the "Central Egypt" of the time), where Akhenaten the 'heretic' king had established himself, but quickly relocated back to the traditional New Kingdom capital of Thebes (in the South, or 'Upper Egypt') as he abandoned Akhenaten's 'heresies'.If anyone else can provide more details it would be appreciated, as there seems to be very little written/known about Tutankhamun's reign and the exact circumstances of the abandonment of Akhetaten.he ruled somewhere in EgyptAncient Egypt
King Tutankhamen was part of the 18th dynasty and ruled from about 1332 to 23 B.C. This period is known as the New Kingdom, which was at the peak of Egypt's powers. The Egyptian Empire at that time extended into areas of Syria in the north and south to the area of Punt. The Nile River was central to the country.
Note: I copied this from the answer (also on WikiAnswers) to the question 'What is the average rainfall in ancient Egypt?' Probably similar to present day rainfall in Egypt. Egypt does not have much rainfall except in the winter months. South of Cairo, it averages only around 2 to 5mm a year at intervals of many years. A very narrow strip of the north coast rainfall can be as much as 410mm, Egypt draws most of its water from the River Nile, which floods at a certain times of the year due to the spring thaw of the snow that falls on Sinai's mountains.
