The Chinese migration to the Caribbean is most pronounced in the British West Indies in general and on the Island of Jamaica in particular. They formed a goodly part of the merchant class in that country and are still important segment of the upper middle and elite class of Jamaica. THey are also an important and visible part of Trinidad's merchant class.
