Never, unfortunately. When developing the T5, VW was planning to develop the retro-style Minibus concept for the US, so the T5 wasn't developed for US specs (those "safety standards" to discourage import vehicles). The Microbus got cancelled for financial reasons, and they will be offering a VW re-badged version of the 2008 Dodge Caravan (which they "developed in cooperation").
