Crescent Firearms Co dates back to 1888. George W, Cilley bought out the defunct Bacon Arms Co. of Norwich, Conn. Cilley teamed up with Frank foster and formed the Crescent Fire Arms Co. Cilley and Foster each held firearms patents and both were qualified firearms design and manuafacture. In 1932 the city of Norwich, Conn. took over the Crescent property for back taxes. The Crescent firearms were well respected.
They were made by Crescent firearms of Connecticut. They made firearms under many trade names from 1890 until about 1932.

I have one... it belonged to my dad...he purchased it used around1918- 1920 SN 410344 stamper on the stock/receiver, barrel and the hand grip, (same numbers on all three pieces) ... Crescent Firearms, sometime between 1888 & 1929. Crescent Firearms Co. was started in 1888 by George W. Cilley. These were made for and sold by a variety of hardware companies, mail order stores, retailers and distributors. Nearly 100 names are known or thought to have been used on shotguns produced by Crescent. In 1929 N. R. Davis Firearms Co. merged with Crescent to become Davis-Crescent Arms Co.
