The third bomb was ready on August 18th, four days after the surrender and 20 more were already scheduled for production and delivery in 1945: 3 in September, 3 in October, 7 in November, and 7 in December. All 21 additional bombs were MK-3 Fatman type with their production rate limited only by rate of production of fissile material, the increase in November and December to 7 bombs a month was due to a planned change from a pure Plutonium-239 core to a composite Plutonium-239/Uranium-235 core.
