The Southern army was not as organized as the North. The North had special stations where people could enlist. They also had a set age that you had to be to enlist in the army (without much effect). The South was much less organized. In the South as long as you could hold a rifle you could join the army. There were no booths where you could enlist. To enlist all you had to do is go to a military camp or base of operations and tell them you wanted to fight. Then they would hand you a rifle and some gear and you were off to battle.

There were no Romans in the Battle of Hastings. They had long since faded into history. This decisive battle in 1066 won by the Normans. It was fought between the Norman, William the Conqueror and an Anglo-Saxon army led by Harold Godwinson.
Yes, as long as they qualify and have the desire to enlist.
There is no such quota for a specific gender, race or age. The Army is an equal opportunity employer, as long as you qualify you can enlist.

College not required. you can enlist right out of high school. Thank you from your country for serving us.
Fiji is a Commonwealth nation. Any citizen of any Commonwealth nation is permitted by British Army regulations to enlist in the British army, so long as their country was in the Commonwealth at the time of their birth (thus, a citizen of Zimbabwe who was born while the country remained in the Commonwealth is still able to enlist in the British Army, even though Zimbabwe is no longer a member of the Commonwealth of Nations).
Train for what? Please be more specific. The Romans had to train for many things. Army? Orator? Lawyer? Mosaic maker? Banker? Baker?
You can enlist under a RIP contract - you'll go through RIP after your Entry Level Training and jump school, and, if you pass it, you'll be assigned to a Ranger Battalion.
There is not a hard and fast rule. They will look at how violent the crime was, and how long ago it occured. They will issue a waiver allowing you to join in some circumstances.
It depends on the "job" or MOS that a person gets. An inital enlistment can be as short as 2 years (usually infantry) or as long as six years( usually aviation). Though in my 14 years+ plus in the Army I have seen many variations.
Yes, once they have completed their duty in the Army. They can then sign an enlistment contract with the Navy. While they probably won't keep their army rank, they do have the benefit of years in service and the experience, which will likely get them promoted faster.
Their strong army and their determination helped the Romans conquer. The strength of their army was unequalled in the ancient world at the time of their expansion. Their determination and tenacity were also unequalled. If the Romans wanted a city or territory, they took it, no matter how long or how difficult the task. The sieges of Alesia and Masada are prime examples of this determination.
