Steam engine was invented by Newcomen in early 1750.
A Steam engine was built by James Watt in 1774.
James Watt realised why existing engines to the Newcomen design were so desperately inefficient, and developed an important modification that greatly improved them. He and others also developed what hitherto had been a rather crude, purely reciprocating engine that could drive the mine-drainage pumps of the time but little else, into a reliable prime-mover whose rotary output could drive many other types of machine via pulleys and belts. ' Watt also invented the Horsepower to measure engines' abilities, using equine power as a comparison of the day, and the modern SI unit of power (rate of energy conversion, where 1W = 1 Joule / second) is the Watt, named in his honour. 1hp = 33000 ft/lbs/min = 746W. For many practical conversions, e.g. comparing car specifications, taking 1HP = 750W is near enough.

James Watt's invention was the steam engine but more improved.

Steam Engine
no one invented the the steam engine in 1769 but James watts improved the steam engine in 1769

for inventing the steam engine
cuz it is
James Watt invented steam engine & it is invented in 1769
James watts
he invented the steam engine Actually that is completely false. The credited inventor of the modern steam engine is James Watts. Baekland invented an early form of plastic called, oddly enough, Bakelite.
sax
He invented the steam engine to make transportation easier.
